Mayor of Rio de Janeiro Marcelo Crivella and Deputy Mayor of Tel Aviv Roberto Reuven Ladijanski met last November 4 to strengthen relations between the two cities.

 It is a great pleasure to welcome the Deputy Mayor of Tel Aviv, one of the most beautiful cities in the world," said Crivella.

Two proposals for cooperation agreements have been submitted for consideration by the Mayor of the city. It is notable that Israel is one of the most innovative countries in the world.

Roberto Reuven Ladijanski, born in Méier, moved to Israel with his family when he was a child and has been building his political career working in the areas of environment, urbanism and animal rights.

He also took the opportunity to visit the Holocaust Memorial at the Yitzhak Rabin park, known as the Pasmado Viewpoint in Botafogo. He was impressed with the work and said he will return to Israel as a kind of informal "ambassador" of the memorial in that country.

It is remarkable that a city so far from the axis where World War II took place is building something so striking 74 years later in memory of Holocaust victims, Ladijanski said.
